International Modern Hospital, part of Sunrise group of Hospitals & clinics gave a new lease of life to 43 year old French patient airlifted from Maldives with head injury, sepsis and multi organ failure.
Patrick Benharrous and his wife who are French Nationals were holidaying in Maldives when Mr.Patrick met with an accident while scuba diving which led to a head injury. During his hospital stay in Maldives, he was suffering from septicemia and multiple organ failure. Mrs.Benharrous while recounting the sequence of events stated that Doctors in Maldives informed her that this was a fatal accident. They advised her to take him to the hospital where advanced medical facilities are available; hence Mrs. Benharrous reviewed the Doctors’ profile and available facilities of International Modern Hospital through its website and was fully convinced to shift her husband to the hospital. Mr.Patrick was shifted to International Modern Hospital by Air Ambulance from Maldives. Mrs. Benharrous was very happy about the treatment her husband received, she specially highlighted about regular feedback and proper communication she received from all the Doctors about the condition of her husband. She added that all the doctors particularly Dr. Ashok Kumar Jayaraj (Intensivist), Dr.Nitin Tarale (Intensivist), Dr.Ashraf Shatla (Consultant Neurosurgeon), Dr.Rohit Kumar (Specialist General Surgeon / Head of the Surgery and Emergency Department), Dr.T.Jagadeesh (Specialist Nephrologist), Dr.Najib Zeidan (Specialist Gastroenterologist) and nurses rendered the best medical service to Patrick and saved his life.

On arrival he was unconscious, on ventilator and on all life supports and diagnosed with multiple organ failure along with a head injury. With the help of multidisciplinary team at International Modern Hospital involving various specialties he was stabilized after 30 days stay in the ICU and transferred back to Paris. During shifting Patrick was conscious with no deficit and not requiring any support.
Dr.Nitin Tarale and Dr.Ashok both Intensivists at International Modern Hospital stated that Mr. Patrick was in a critical condition and the chance of his survival was very slim. Our team did a great job to stabilize the patient and get him transferred to France.
