The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) celebrated the first anniversary of having launched Dubai Health Experience (DXH) in April 2016 which aims to attract 500,000 medical tourists to Dubai by 2020. The celebration was held in the presence of H.E. Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director General of DHA and officials from Dubai Health Experience.
“DXH completed a year of success and progression in strengthening Dubai’s position on the global map of medical tourism attracting medical tourists from all over the globe to enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience in Dubai with access to the finest medical expertise and world-class healthcare institutions,”Dr. Layla Mohamed Al Marzouqi, Director – The Medical Tourism Council said.
“We started off with 26 DXH Group Members and today we proudly embrace 45 of Dubai’s leading healthcare providers from hospitals, specialised clinics to day surgery centers offering over 400 different healthcare packages across orthopedic, fertility, cosmetic, dental, ophthalmology, and wellness treatments to Dubai’s medical tourists,” Al Marzouqi added.
“Our efforts in the medical tourism sector throughout the past year have been globally recognised with Dubai winning the Chairmanship of the Global Healthcare Travel Council in 2017 which moves our communication and exposure to a truly global level,” Al Marzouqi said.
