Dubai looks forward to being the ideal destination for medical and wellness treatments to attract 500,000 health tourists . In addition, it focuses on the medical tourism industry by identifying investment opportunities in the health sector, developing marketing plans, promoting health tourism, monitoring and coordinating with healthcare providers within the UAE and developing communication skills in different languages. These efforts are supported by extensive research and analysis to identify opportunities for investment and create opportunities for cooperation with the private sector.

More than 90 healthcare facilities are enrolled in DXH experience with more than 700 packages listed in www.dxh.ae.

“Dubai Health Experience” aims to position Dubai on the health tourism map, strengthen the Emirate’s position as a health tourism destination, attract visitors and focus on marketing and promotion of Dubai’s healthcare services in the regional and global healthcare sector, with the aim of attracting more than 500,000 health tourists to Dubai.

The GCC and other Arab countries are at the top of the list, followed by Asian and African countries.

Among the first specialised areas to be offered by the “Dubai Health Experience” (DXH) are cosmetic treatment and surgery, orthopaedics and sports medicine, ophthalmology, dental treatment, dermatology, wellness and preventive health check-up packages, as well as assisted reproductive techniques and weight loss management and surgeries.

Passport holders of countries listed below enjoy no advance visa arrangements when visiting the UAE. Upon arrival to Dubai International Airport, they can proceed to Immigration, where their passport will be stamped with a 30-day visit visa free of charge which can be extended for an additional 30 days at an additional charge. All visitors must have a valid return ticket as well as a passport valid for at least six months.

All other nationalities must arrange for visa prior to their arrival in the UAE.

GCC nationals do not need a visa to enter the UAE. Arab residents of the GCC countries who hold a business class residence visa, company directors or representatives, auditors, accountants, physicians, engineers and private sector workers, can obtain a 30-day visa non-renewable upon arrival in the UAE.

    • Short Tourist Visa Single Entry: Short stay valid for 30 days and extendable for another 30 days. It is automatically cancelled once the tourist departs from the United Arab Emirates. 
    • Short Visa Multi Entry : Tourist Visa Multi Entry Short stay valid for 30 days and extendable for another 30 days. It is automatically cancelled once the tourist departs from the United Arab Emirates. However, the difference is that the tourists can leave and re-enter the country at any point of time. In which the Visa stays valid for the whole period and doesn’t get cancelled. 
    • Long Tourist Visa Single Entry: Short stay valid for 90 days and extendable for another 30 days. It is automatically cancelled once the tourist departs from the United Arab
    • Long Visa Multi Entry: Tourist Visa Multi Entry Short stay valid for 90 days and extendable for another 30 days. It is automatically cancelled once the tourist departs from the United Arab Emirates. However, the difference is that the tourists can leave and re-enter the country at any point of time.
