Ministry of Economy (MoE) and Dubai Health Authority (DHA) launch the Happiness Initiative… 26-03-2018 Share

In collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, DHA launched a unique initiative in the Emirate of Dubai to mark the World Happiness Day. The Health Tourism Council (HTC) of DHA celebrated this day with few of their partner members from the private healthcare sector. The initiative aimed to provide a unique package of medical services and free testing for residents and tourists of the community within the Emirate of Dubai.  Prominent healthcare facilities such as Medcare, Zulekha, and Al Zahra hospital, which are part of the Dubai Health Experience group, came forward to offer free basic checkups for a week.

HE Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, said that the happiness of citizens and the development of a positive society is at the heart of the government’s efforts for the state. In this context, the Ministry of Economy is keen to develop strategic initiatives with other government entities at the federal and local levels and the private sector, keeping in line with the vision of wise leadership in meeting the standards of happiness and well-being of its citizens and residents.

HE Al Mansouri added that this joint initiative with Dubai Health Authority and the private health facilities from the Emirate to provide free health services to residents and tourists would promote general well-being and constitute a qualitative addition to the initiatives being implemented in conjunction with International Day of Happiness. The UAE is one of the leading countries in adopting several best practices to establish the potential of happiness within the community and to instill a positive and rewarding spirit to citizens, residents and visitors.

HE Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami, Chairman of Dubai Health Authority, said: "It is the modern life, the level of progress and prosperity of the UAE that has made happiness a common trait of the society and all its citizens who receive the generous care and interest of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed, President of UAE and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the Supreme Council members, the UAE rulers, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Commander Up of the armed forces.

HE Al Qatami added that the launch of this special initiative by The Health Tourism Council of Dubai Health Authority in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy represents an important step in the successful partnership between the two stakeholders and applauded the efforts of the Minister of Economy, especially those related to the promotion of health tourism.

His Excellency said that the DHA’s strategic goal is to achieve a healthier and happier society through the comprehensive development of the healthcare industry which aims to provide health services that exceed customer expectations and satisfaction thereby providing a distinctive overall health experience and to enhance DHA’s directives to promote health tourism and attract those who seeks life full of happiness and wellness.
